Sanctuary Medicinals Florida

Sanctuary Medicinals Florida is a series of projects to expand the successful Massachusetts-based organization into the Sunshine State. Since 2019, CAC has collaborated with Sanctuary to open dispensaries in several cities in Florida, including Orlando, Jupiter, Fort Pierce, St. Petersburg, Miami, Delray Beach, and Tampa. Additionally, a partially completed cultivation facility in Apopka is currently in progress.

Most Sanctuary Medicinals dispensaries in Florida are renovations of existing buildings, with the exception of the ground-up build in Fort Pierce. We worked closely with the ownership team to create a flexible prototype that could adapt to the varying project sites. The unique challenge to adapt the well-known Sanctuary brand to work the Florida market was solved with the use of natural light, bright colors, and warm wood tones. Coupled with the signature Sanctuary green, the color pallet evokes both the spirit of the brand and the cool, laid-back Florida vibes.

With new locations still being opened throughout the state, this collaboration between our team and Sanctuary is an ongoing effort. The most satisfying aspect of this project for our team has been the ability to create and watch the flexible prototype evolve with each new location and having a tangible impact from the beginning of the project. This partnership continues to embody our ‘learn by doing’ attitude, constantly addressing the challenges presented by each location to bring the Sanctuary brand to life while adapting to site-specific requirements. As we continue to learn and grow, each location transcends the previous one in both design and execution.
